 Ingredients: 100 g butter or margarine, 125 g sugar, 1 tablespoon vanilla sugar, 150 g flour, 2 eggs, 150 ml milk, 25 g cocoa, 1/2 packet baking powder

To prepare a delicious and fluffy cake, we start by melting the margarine in a bowl. It is important to ensure that it melts evenly without boiling, to preserve all the flavors. Once the margarine is completely melted, we let it cool until it reaches room temperature. This step is essential because we do not want to cook the eggs when we add them to the mixture.

In a large bowl, we will mix the cooled margarine together with 100 grams of sugar and vanilla sugar, using a mixer on medium speed. We mix well until we obtain a creamy and homogeneous mixture, which will constitute the delicious base of our cake. It is important to ensure that the sugar is completely dissolved so that we do not have unpleasant crystals in the cake.

After obtaining this cream, we will add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each egg. This step will help incorporate air into the mixture, giving it a fluffy texture. We continue to mix until the cream becomes rich and shiny.

The next step consists of adding the flour, which we previously mixed with the baking powder. We will do this gradually, alternating with 125 ml of milk. It is important to start and end with flour, mixing gently with a spatula or with the mixer on low speed to avoid forming lumps. This way, we obtain a fine and homogeneous batter.

Once the batter is ready, we will divide it into two equal bowls. In one of the bowls, we add the cocoa powder, the remaining sugar, and the rest of the milk. We mix well until all the ingredients combine, and the mixture becomes uniform and has an intense color.

We prepare a cake pan, which we line with baking paper or grease with butter and sprinkle with flour to prevent sticking. Using a spoon, we will alternate the white and black mixtures, pouring them one at a time into the pan. This technique will create a very attractive marbled effect.

After we finish filling the pan, we place the cake in the preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius. Baking takes between 20 and 30 minutes, but it is recommended to check with a tester or a toothpick to ensure it is baked inside. Once the cake is baked, we let it cool in the pan for a few minutes, then transfer it to a rack to cool completely. For an elegant finishing touch, we can dust the cake with powdered sugar before serving, giving it a special appearance and a sweet-tart taste.
