Baked pike

Ingredients: 1 pike perch of 600-700 g, 2 medium green onions, 1 bell pepper, 4 tablespoons of olive oil, 1 teaspoon of Delikat seasoning, 1 teaspoon of thyme, 100 ml of water.

To prepare a delicious baked fish, you start with an essential step: cleaning and portioning the fish. Wash the fish under a stream of cold water to remove impurities, then cut it into four equal pieces. This will ensure even cooking and allow the flavors to penetrate well into each piece.

Prepare a heat-resistant glass dish, preferably from the SIMAX brand, which is ideal for oven cooking. Carefully grease the bottom with 2 tablespoons of olive oil, which will help prevent the fish from sticking and will add a hint of flavor.

Next, we continue with the onion, which will form a savory bed at the bottom of the dish. Chop one onion into small cubes and arrange it evenly at the bottom of the dish. This will help enhance the flavor of the fish, providing a moist and flavorful base. Then, place the four pieces of fish on top of the onion, ensuring there is enough space between them to allow warm air to circulate.

The next step involves preparing the second onion, which you will also chop into small cubes, along with a bell pepper, preferably red or yellow for an added splash of color and sweetness. These vegetables will be generously sprinkled over the fish, bringing a crunchy texture and fresh taste.

In addition to these, add the 4 cloves of garlic, which you will slice thinly. The garlic will provide a strong and unmistakable aroma, perfectly complementing the dish. Season the mixture with 1 teaspoon of delikat, which will enhance the flavor, and 1 teaspoon of thyme, an aromatic herb that pairs wonderfully with fish.

Add the remaining 2 tablespoons of olive oil to let the flavors penetrate, then carefully pour 100 ml of water into the dish to maintain moisture during baking. Cover everything with a lid or aluminum foil to retain the steam.

Place the dish in the preheated oven at a medium temperature, about 180 degrees Celsius, and let it bake for 40 minutes. The wait will be worth it, as the flavors will combine perfectly, and the fish will become tender and full of flavor. Serve this delicacy with your favorite side dish or a fresh salad. Enjoy your meal!
