Pesto and Tomato Tarts
To create a delicious and appealing snack, we will start by preparing the dough. It is important to ensure that the dough is well risen and has a slightly elastic texture so that it can be easily shaped. Once you have obtained the dough, divide it into individual portions, making sure that each portion is of the desired size. These portions will form the base of our tarts, so make sure they are evenly sized.
Next is an essential step: spread about two teaspoons of pesto in the center of each dough portion. The pesto, with its intense flavor of basil, nuts, and cheese, will give our dish a special taste. Make sure to spread the pesto evenly so that each bite is full of flavor.
After you have spread the dough, moving to the next step involves the tomatoes. Choose fresh, juicy tomatoes, preferably from varieties that have a sweet taste and firm texture. Slice them thinly, into rounds, and place about three slices on each dough portion, over the pesto. The arrangement of the tomatoes should be aesthetic, adding not only flavor but also a pleasing visual aspect to the tarts.
To ensure a golden and appetizing crust, use a kitchen brush to brush the exposed edges of the tarts with a little olive oil. This detail will help achieve a crispy texture and enhance the final appearance of the dish.
Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius. Place the tarts on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and put them in the preheated oven. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the edges become golden and crispy. The aroma that will fill the kitchen during baking will be irresistible.
Once the tarts are ready, you can serve them either plain, to highlight the fresh taste of the ingredients, or alongside a cold beer, which will perfectly complement summer meals. Additionally, a crisp green salad with a simple lemon and olive oil dressing will add a touch of freshness and turn this snack into a refined meal. Enjoy your meal!
