Spinach roll with cheese and bell pepper
Fresh spinach is an extremely nutritious and versatile vegetable, and the recipe we propose today transforms this ingredient into a culinary delight. We start by washing the spinach thoroughly, removing any impurities or wilted leaves. Once cleaned, we put the spinach in the food processor and blend it until we obtain a fine paste. This will form the base of our roll.
Once the spinach has been finely chopped, we add the fresh eggs, which will provide structure and moisture to the dish. We season with salt and pepper to taste, being careful not to overdo it, so as not to mask the natural flavor of the spinach. We mix the composition well, then begin to integrate the flour, which should be pre-mixed with the baking powder. This combination will help create a fluffy texture, essential for our roll. We continue mixing until all the ingredients are completely homogenized and we obtain a uniform dough.
We prepare a tray lined with baking paper, where we will pour the spinach mixture. We spread the dough evenly to ensure it bakes uniformly. We place the tray in the preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius and let it bake for about 20-25 minutes. When the dough has taken on a golden color and is well baked, we remove the tray from the oven. Carefully, we turn the roll onto another sheet of baking paper and roll it up, allowing it to cool in its round shape.
Meanwhile, we take care of the filling. The telemea cheese, with its creamy texture and salty taste, is crumbled well in a bowl. We add a little salt and pepper, but again, in moderation. We chop the red pepper into small cubes and integrate them into the cheese mixture. It is important for the filling to have a firm consistency that will hold when we roll the dish. We let it chill in the fridge for at least 30 minutes, to firm up and combine the flavors.
Once the spinach roll has completely cooled, we carefully unroll it and fill it with the cheese cream. We spread the filling evenly over the entire surface of the roll, then roll it up again, being careful to tighten it well. Finally, we can cut the roll into slices and serve it as an appetizer or main dish, accompanied by a fresh salad. This recipe is not only delicious but also full of vitamins, making every bite an unforgettable culinary experience.
