Total time: 1 hour and 45 minutes
Number of servings: 8-10 servings
Ingredients:
*For the yellow paste (the little bees):*
- 4 tablespoons coconut
- 1 packet powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 drop yellow food coloring
- 50 g butter/margarine
*For decorating the little bees:*
- 2 bars dark chocolate
*For the hive:*
- 1 bag cappuccino wafer sticks
- 1 bag chocolate wafer sticks
- 1 cup honey and nut cereal Nestlé
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 3 tablespoons milk
*For the flowers and leaves:*
- 2 tablespoons powdered milk
- 3 tablespoons powdered sugar
- 1 tablespoon honey
- Food coloring (optional)
Step-by-step preparation:
1. Preparing the little bees:
In a bowl, combine the 4 tablespoons of coconut, 1 packet of powdered sugar, 2 tablespoons of honey, the drop of yellow food coloring, and 50 g of butter or margarine. Mix well until you obtain a homogeneous paste. This mixture will be the base for your little bees.
2. Shaping the little bees:
From the obtained paste, form small balls, making sure to give them a round shape, similar to bees. These will be the base of your dessert.
3. Preparing the chocolate:
In a pot, melt the 2 bars of dark chocolate in a double boiler. Make sure no water gets into the chocolate to avoid ruining it. Using a toothpick or a skewer, draw lines on the bodies of the bees and create eyes and mouths. Once finished, let them cool until the chocolate hardens.
4. Preparing the hive:
In another bowl, crumble the cappuccino wafer sticks and the chocolate ones. Add the honey and nut cereal from Nestlé, 2 tablespoons of honey, and 3 tablespoons of milk. Use a masher to obtain a homogeneous paste.
5. Forming the hive:
After obtaining the paste, gently mix in the whole cereal flakes. From this mixture, shape a conical mound to represent the hive.
6. Decorating the hive:
With the remaining yellow paste, form long, thin rolls that you will use to surround the hive, leaving an open door at the front, at the bottom. Place the little bees around the hive, attaching wings made of cereal flakes to their backs for an authentic look.
7. Creating the flowers and leaves:
From the 2 tablespoons of powdered milk, 3 tablespoons of powdered sugar, 1 tablespoon of honey, and food coloring, you can create small flowers and leaves to add extra beauty to your decoration.
Useful tips:
- Make sure all ingredients are at room temperature before starting the preparation.
