To prepare a delicious dessert, we start by mixing the eggs with the sugar, ensuring that the latter melts completely, thus obtaining a homogeneous and frothy composition. After removing the saucepan from the heat, we add the cocoa and butter, mixing well until we obtain a fine and homogeneous composition. We let the syrup cool slightly so that it is not extremely hot when we dip the sponge cake cubes into it.
When the sponge cake is completely cooled, we cut it into equal-sized cubes. Each cube is dipped into the cocoa syrup, ensuring it is well soaked. Then, we roll the cubes in ground nuts or coconut flakes, providing an attractive appearance and a special aroma. This step not only enhances the flavor but also adds a crunchy texture, perfectly contrasting with the delicacy of the sponge cake.
