Forest mushroom cream soup
Ingredients: Ingredients for 4 people: -1 packet (69 g) forest mushroom cream soup, from Maggi -750 ml water
The parody of a soup... My dear ones, I woke up this morning with an indescribable "inconvenience" in me (let's not call it otherwise!). What to cook? It was a question that lingered in my mind like an obsessive melody. The main course was already planned, with everything prepared yesterday, so I couldn't backtrack, even if I wanted to. But the soup? I steeled myself, grabbed two eco-friendly bags (because that's the trend now!) and off I went to the supermarket! I still didn't know what I would buy for the soup, but I would let myself be guided by momentary inspiration - I told myself. "I'll see what I find on the spot!"
But as the home plan (which actually wasn't made!) never matches the one in the market, I returned... with what do you think? A packet of soup (I don't know why I took the bags with me. Probably just to carry them around!). Yes! A "brand" soup, can you believe it? Did I forget to tell you that I woke up this morning with a huge, huge "inconvenience" in me?
And here’s what I prepared: MUSHROOM CREAM SOUP. If it’s good, I’ll let you know when I finish it. The instructions on the packet said that to make it "better and finer", grated carrots and celery should be added at the beginning of the boiling. I didn’t add them! Because I didn’t want to grate my hand on the grater (as always happens!) and it was too much work with them and too great an effort.
So I put cold water in a pot, poured the contents of the packet over it, brought it to a boil – with great care, supervised, stirring well with a whisk. Watching the clock, I let the mixture boil on low heat for 10 minutes, during which I stirred with the whisk occasionally in the pot. This soup is good and quick, I tell myself. Just right for this day.
To impress as a renowned chef, I served it at the table, sprinkled with green parsley leaves (and those only finely chopped) and with a few pieces of butter starting to melt in the plate from the heat of the soup. I followed the slogan "cook from the heart with Maggi", and this soup (it says on the packet, not from me!) "offers the intense and unique taste of wild mushrooms in a creamy, fine, and delicious soup". That's it! How can I be cooking from "instant" products? Will my gesture surprise? It surprises me! Shall we laugh at the comedy of the situation?!? This soup may never become a reference recipe in my pantry, but today, it was exactly what I needed. A little culinary escape, a moment of fun, and proof that sometimes, even the simplest dishes can bring joy to the soul. So, let’s enjoy every bite, even when everything seems like a game.
