Hearts with Strawberry Cream
To prepare a delicious heart-shaped cake, it is essential to carefully follow each step of the recipe. We start by separating the eggs, a process that requires a bit of precision. So, we take a clean and dry bowl and crack the eggs, making sure not to leave any traces of yolk in the egg whites. The egg whites are beaten with a few tablespoons of water until they become firm and shiny. This will provide exceptional volume to our layers.
In another bowl, we beat the yolks with sugar and oil, mixing well until we achieve a homogeneous and fluffy mixture. This mixture will add a rich flavor and a fine texture to the layers. After the egg whites are beaten and the yolks are prepared, we carefully combine the two mixtures, being careful not to lose the air.
The next step is to add the flour, baking powder, and cocoa powder. These ingredients need to be gently integrated using a spatula, with circular motions from top to bottom. This will ensure a uniform mixture without lumps. Once the mixture is ready, we pour it into a baking tray lined with parchment paper, making sure it is evenly distributed. The tray is placed in a preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius and left to bake for about 30 minutes. The layer is ready when, upon gentle pressing, it springs back to its original shape.
After the layer has completely cooled, we move on to preparing the cream. In a saucepan, we bring 500 ml of milk to a boil and add the 5 tablespoons of sugar. After the sugar has melted, we add the pudding, stirring continuously to avoid lumps. Once the pudding has thickened, we let it cool. Meanwhile, we whip the cream until it becomes firm, then carefully fold it into the cooled pudding, creating a fine and airy cream.
To form the hearts, we cut the layer into the desired shape, then each heart is cut in half. Each half is filled with the delicious cream, and the edges are spread with a thin layer of cream. Finally, the hearts are rolled in coconut, giving them an attractive appearance and a tropical flavor. These treats should be kept in the fridge for a few hours to allow the flavors to blend perfectly. Serve them with love, and enjoy the appreciation of your loved ones!
