Chicken thighs with sour cream
Chicken thighs, a versatile and delicious ingredient, can be transformed into a savory and comforting dish. We start by washing the chicken thighs under a stream of cold water, ensuring that we remove any impurities. After cleaning them, we cut them in half to allow for even boiling and to reduce cooking time. We place the thighs in a large pot with cold water and bring them to a boil. During boiling, it is important to remove the foam that forms on the surface to achieve a clear and tasty broth.
Once we have removed the foam, we add a little seasoning to enhance the flavor. We let the thighs boil over medium heat for about 30 minutes, or until the meat becomes tender and easily separates from the bone. In the meantime, we can prepare the sauce. In a separate bowl, we mix two tablespoons of flour with milk, ensuring there are no lumps, to achieve a smooth consistency.
On the stove, we place a saucepan with a little olive oil, heating it over medium heat. When the oil is hot enough, we pour in the milk and flour mixture, stirring constantly with a spatula or whisk to prevent lumps from forming. We start to gradually add the chicken broth, little by little, continuing to stir until the sauce reaches the desired consistency: creamy but not too thick. If we feel it is necessary, we can add salt to taste to balance the flavors.
After about five minutes of continuous boiling, the sauce should be well combined. Now, we add the five tablespoons of sour cream, which will give it a rich texture and delicate flavor. Then, we incorporate the boiled chicken thighs, gently mixing them into the sauce to coat them evenly. We leave everything on the heat for another five minutes, allowing the flavors to combine harmoniously and enjoy a truly delicious dish.
In the end, we can serve the chicken thighs alongside a side of mashed potatoes or a fresh salad to complete the meal. This dish is not only easy to prepare, but it will surely impress loved ones, bringing a touch of warmth and flavor to every serving. Enjoy your meal!
