Fish is a versatile and nutritious ingredient, and its preparation can transform an ordinary meal into an unforgettable culinary experience. In this recipe, we will learn how to prepare a delicious oven-baked fish, accompanied by fresh vegetables. We start by cleaning the fish of scales and intestines, an essential step to ensure the food will be tasty and healthy. Using a sharp knife, we carefully remove the scales and intestines, making sure not to leave any remnants. Once we have cleaned the fish, we cut it into appropriately sized pieces, ideally around 150-200 grams each, for even cooking.

Once the fish is portioned, we salt and season it to taste. The spices can vary depending on personal preferences, but it is recommended to use salt, pepper, paprika, or herbs such as marjoram or thyme. These will add a touch of flavor to the fish and turn it into a fragrant dish.

Meanwhile, we prepare the vegetables for the side dish. Onion, carrots, bell peppers, and zucchini are just a few of the options we can use. We slice them into thin rounds and arrange them in a baking tray, forming an even layer. These vegetables not only add color but also a sweet taste that will perfectly complement the fish. Over the vegetables, we pour about 100 ml of olive oil, which will help caramelize them during baking.

After we have arranged the vegetables and fish, we add the broth or white wine, which will enrich the dish with subtle aromas. We place the tray in the preheated oven at a medium temperature and let it bake for about 40 minutes. It is important to check from time to time, ensuring that the fish is cooked evenly and that the vegetables are tender.

About 10 minutes before removing the tray from the oven, we add a few cloves of garlic, lightly crushed, which will provide an intense aroma to the dish. They will infuse in the hot oil, adding extra flavor.

Once the baking time is over, we take the tray out of the oven and prepare to serve. Ideally, we should enjoy this fish with vegetables alongside freshly baked bread, which will perfectly complete this meal full of flavors and textures. Enjoy your meal!
