Fruit Kaki Biscuit Salam
Kaki Fruit Biscuit Salami - a quick and simple dessert, specially dedicated to our dear grandmother. This recipe combines the crunchy texture of biscuits with the exotic sweetness of Kaki fruit, resulting in a delicious and unique treat. Let’s discover together the necessary steps to create this special dessert!
Preparation time: 30 minutes
Cooling time: 2-3 hours
Total: 3-3.5 hours
Number of servings: 10-12 servings
Ingredients:
- 500 g biscuits (preferably plain or digestive biscuits)
- 150 g dark chocolate (minimum 50% cocoa for an intense flavor)
- 250 g butter (at room temperature)
- 350 ml milk
- 2-3 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon rum essence
- 2-3 Kaki fruits (make sure they are ripe to avoid a bitter taste)
Step 1: Preparing the chocolate
In a small saucepan, heat the milk over low heat, being careful not to let it boil. Add the dark chocolate and butter cut into cubes. Stir continuously until all ingredients are completely melted and you achieve a smooth mixture. This step is crucial to ensure a fine texture for the biscuit salami.
Step 2: Processing the biscuits
In a large bowl, crush the biscuits. It is important not to grind them too finely; you want to maintain a slightly crunchy texture. Add the cocoa powder and rum essence, mixing well to evenly distribute the flavors.
Step 3: Adding the chocolate
Pour the chocolate and butter mixture over the biscuits. Using a spatula or wooden spoon, carefully mix everything until well combined. Here, the biscuits will absorb the intense flavors of the chocolate and butter.
Step 4: Preparing the Kaki fruits
Peel the Kaki fruits if desired and cut them into small cubes. These fruits have no seeds, and their sweet and slightly floral taste will perfectly complement the dessert. Add the Kaki cubes to the biscuit and chocolate mixture, gently mixing to avoid crushing them.
Step 5: Shaping the salami
There are two methods you can use to shape the salamis. The first option is to place the mixture on plastic wrap, shape it into a cylinder, and roll it tightly. The second option, which I chose, is to incorporate the Kaki cubes directly into the biscuit mixture. Whichever option you choose, make sure to form a uniform cylinder.
Step 6: Cooling
Wrap the salamis tightly in plastic wrap and place them in the freezer for 2-3 hours. If you have patience, leave them in the fridge, but if you're impatient, the freezer will work wonders. This is the perfect time to enjoy a cup of tea or coffee while you wait.
Step 7: Serving
Once the salamis have hardened, cut them into slices about 1 cm thick. They can be served as a refined dessert at a family meal or as a sweet snack during the day. A personal suggestion: sprinkle a little coconut or crushed nuts on top for added appearance and texture.
Note: Choose ripe Kaki fruits, as unripe ones have a bitter taste, similar to wormwood. This dessert is not only a flavorful delicacy but also an excellent way to introduce exotic fruits into your daily diet.
Enjoy this delicious Kaki fruit biscuit salami, a simple, quick recipe full of surprises! We invite you to try it and share it with your loved ones. Kisses to grandma!
