Steak Salad (My Way)

Ingredients: For 2 servings: 2 quarters of iceberg lettuce (smaller) 1 cup of thick and fairly liquid yogurt (or 1/2 yogurt and 1/2 sour cream as recommended by other recipes or 1 cup buttermilk) 70-90 g of sweet Gorgonzola cheese (if you have the one with Mascarpone it's even better) a tip of a clove of garlic crushed very well (I didn't add it) salt and freshly ground pepper 7 extremely thin slices of bacon cooked in a pan without oil or on the grill and then chopped finely 1-2 tomatoes * grated Parmesan to sprinkle on top (I forgot to add it)

To create a delicious and flavorful salad, it is essential to focus on every detail in preparing the dressing. Start by preparing the dressing, carefully mixing yogurt (or sour cream, depending on preferences) with gorgonzola, crushed garlic, salt, and pepper. The mixture should become a smooth cream, but if you want a more interesting texture, you can leave larger pieces of gorgonzola, which will provide a pleasant contrast in every bite. It is important to keep the dressing cold, to preserve its freshness and enhance its flavors until the moment of serving the salad.

Next, we move on to the bacon, an ingredient that adds an unmistakable taste. In a hot pan, fry the bacon slices until they become crispy and golden. After frying, let them cool slightly, then cut them into cubes or small pieces to distribute evenly in the salad.

Now it's time to take care of the vegetables. Wash the tomatoes with cold water to remove impurities, then chop them. In the original recipe, the tomatoes are diced, but I prefer to slice them for a more elegant look in the salad. Make sure to remove the seeds so the salad doesn't become too wet.

Lettuce is another essential ingredient for this dish. Wash it carefully and dry it well, as excess water can affect the final texture and taste of the salad. Once all the ingredients are prepared, take a plate that you have kept in the fridge to be cold. Place a quarter of the salad on the plate to create a fresh and crunchy base.

Now, add the cheese and yogurt dressing over the salad, making sure to distribute it evenly so that every bite is full of flavor. Then sprinkle the crispy bacon and chopped tomatoes, thus completing the texture and taste of the salad. If you want to add extra flavor, don't forget the grated parmesan, which will provide an intense taste and umami note. This can be sprinkled on top to finish the dish. Serve immediately to enjoy all the fresh and delicious flavors!
