German plum rolls are a delicious pastry, perfect for autumn, with flavors that delight your senses. This recipe combines the intense taste of ripe plums with the comforting aroma of cinnamon, creating an unforgettable culinary experience. Whether you serve them on a quiet afternoon or at a gathering with friends, these rolls will surely attract attention and stimulate appetite.

To prepare the German plum rolls, you will need the following ingredients: 500 g of flour, 250 ml of warm milk, 100 g of sugar, 100 g of melted butter, 2 eggs, 25 g of fresh yeast, a pinch of salt, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, 500 g of well-ripened plums, and powdered sugar for decoration. Make sure you have all the ingredients at hand to facilitate the cooking process.

Start by preparing the dough. In a large bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm milk and add a tablespoon of sugar. Let the mixture sit for 10 minutes until it becomes frothy. In another bowl, combine the flour, the remaining sugar, salt, and cinnamon. Make a well in the center of the flour mixture and add the eggs, melted butter, and yeast mixture. Knead the dough for about 10 minutes until it becomes elastic and smooth. Cover it with a clean towel and let it rise in a warm place for about an hour or until it doubles in volume.

Meanwhile, prepare the plums. Wash them well, remove the pits, and cut them in half. If you prefer, you can add a tablespoon of sugar over the plums to enhance their sweetness. After the dough has risen, roll it out on a floured surface, forming a rectangle about 1 cm thick. Place the plums evenly over the entire surface of the dough, leaving a margin of a few centimeters. Roll the dough tightly, then cut it into pieces of about 5 cm.

Place the rolls in a baking tray lined with parchment paper, leaving a little space between them. Cover them again with a towel and let them rise for 30 minutes. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Bake the rolls for 25-30 minutes until they become golden and fluffy. After removing them from the oven, let them cool slightly, then sprinkle powdered sugar on top. Served warm, alongside a glass of mulled wine, these German plum rolls will surely be a delight for all your loved ones.

Preheat the oven to 180°C and grease and flour a 26 cm round baking pan or a rectangular baking dish. In a hot skillet, roast the nuts/almonds until they turn golden brown. In a bowl, mix the cheese with the milk, oil, salt, sugar, and cinnamon. Add the flour and baking powder and knead until you have a homogeneous dough. Place the dough on a floured surface and roll it out to approximately 50x50 cm. Spread the jam on top, then sprinkle the plums and nuts/almonds and roll it up. It may tear in places, but don't worry. Cut the roll into 12-14 slices and place them either side by side in the round pan or individually in another dish. Brush the top with melted butter and bake for 45-55 minutes, until the rolls are golden brown. Serve them warm or cold. Enjoy your meal! Recipe posted by KikenHana.
