Three-Colored Cake – A Celebration of Love and Flavors
Today, we will prepare a special cake dedicated to a remarkable anniversary: 25 years of love for my parents. Although time and budget were limited, I managed to create a delicious and appealing cake, full of colors and flavors. This three-colored cake recipe is not just a treat, but also an expression of the love and care we put into every culinary creation.
Total preparation time: 1 hour
Chilling time: 4 hours
Servings: 10-12
Ingredients
- For the cake layers
- 1 cake layer (store-bought or homemade)
- For the creams
- 3 packets of Dr. Oetker cream (vanilla, chocolate, berry)
- 750 ml milk
- 12 tablespoons powdered sugar
- For decoration
- 150 ml liquid cream
- 2 dark chocolates
- 1 can of pineapple in syrup (approximately 400 g)
Step-by-step Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the creams
Start by preparing the three creams. In each bowl, add one packet of Dr. Oetker cream, 250 ml of milk, and 4 tablespoons of powdered sugar. Mix well until the mixture is smooth. Once mixed, cover the bowls with plastic wrap and refrigerate for about 30 minutes. This will allow the creams to thicken and achieve a fine texture.
Step 2: Prepare the chocolate decoration
Meanwhile, we can prepare the chocolate decoration. Melt half of the two dark chocolates together with 100-150 ml of liquid cream, using a double boiler or microwave. Mix well until the chocolate is completely melted and a smooth mixture forms. On a baking sheet, use a piping bag or a plastic bag with a corner cut off to create various shapes, circles, or lines. Let them chill in the fridge for 30 minutes and then transfer them to the freezer for 10 minutes until they harden.
Step 3: Prepare the pineapple
Drain the pineapple from the syrup and cut it into small cubes. This will add a refreshing note and a pleasant contrast of textures to the cake.
Step 4: Assemble the cake
Once the creams have cooled and thickened, it’s time to assemble the cake. Start by soaking each cake layer with the pineapple syrup. Place the first layer on a serving platter, then add the berry cream (purple), followed by the pineapple cubes. Place the second layer on top, add the chocolate cream (dark), and again the pineapple cubes. Repeat this process with the third layer, adding the vanilla cream (white) and the pineapple cubes.
Step 5: Decorate the cake
After the cake is assembled, it’s time to decorate it. Use the remaining liquid cream to evenly cover the cake. Then, decorate it with pineapple drizzled with chocolate and the chocolate shapes you prepared earlier. You can also add some edible flowers or chocolate roses for an impressive visual effect.
Step 6: Chill
Cover the cake with plastic wrap and refrigerate for about 4 hours to allow the flavors to meld and achieve the perfect texture.
