In a spacious bowl, we begin to prepare a delicious and fragrant mixture, ideal for holidays. We add 250 grams of honey, which will provide natural sweetness and a soft texture, along with 120 grams of sugar, to intensify the sweet taste. We continue with 70 grams of lard, which will add a note of healthy fat and a subtle flavor, and 60 grams of lard, essential for a tender dough. We complete with 2 tablespoons of milk, which helps to homogenize the ingredients. We place the bowl on low heat and stir constantly until all the ingredients combine perfectly and we obtain a homogeneous mixture. Once the mixture has warmed up, we take it off the heat and let it cool slightly.

After the mixture has cooled, we add a teaspoon of lemon juice, which will give a note of freshness, along with 2 teaspoons of cinnamon, which will fill the kitchen with a wonderful aroma. We add a packet of baking powder, to make the dough fluffy, then we introduce 500 grams of flour, 300 grams of ground walnuts, and one egg. We mix the ingredients well until we obtain a homogeneous and easy-to-handle dough.

Once the dough is ready, we roll it out on a floured surface, about 3-4 mm thick. Using star-shaped cutters of different sizes, we carefully cut out each figure, and if we want to create a more playful look, we can also cut small round shapes from the dough to create a space between the branches. We place the shapes on a baking tray lined with parchment paper and put them in the preheated oven, letting them bake for a few minutes until they become slightly golden.

To bring our Christmas trees to life, we prepare a meringue glaze. We beat 2 egg whites until foamy, gradually adding 320 grams of powdered sugar until we achieve a dense and glossy foam. We add 2 teaspoons of lemon juice to prevent the glaze from hardening quickly. We color the foam with a vibrant green dye, then use a brush to paint each baked star, giving them a festive appearance.

Assembling the Christmas tree is a true art. We start by stacking the largest stars on top of each other, followed by the medium-sized ones, and finally the small stars. It is important to ensure that the stars stay well attached to each other, so we refresh the surface of each shape with the colored egg white. We finish the Christmas tree with colorful candy decorations and coconut, which add a cheerful and attractive look. We let the Christmas trees dry, and if we want to give them to carolers, we carefully wrap them in cellophane, turning them into wonderful sweets, full of love and joy.
