In a large pot, I brought salted water to a boil, essential for preserving the vibrant color and crunchy texture of the broccoli. Once the water started boiling, I added the broccoli and let it cook for about 3 minutes. This step is crucial for lightly softening the vegetable without destroying its nutrients. After the time was up, I drained the broccoli and set it aside to cool slightly.

In a skillet, I melted a generous piece of butter, which will add a rich flavor to the dish. I added finely chopped onion and bell pepper, stirring with a spatula to distribute them evenly. I sautéed the vegetables for 3 minutes until the onion became translucent and the bell pepper softened a bit, releasing an inviting aroma. Then, I added the boiled broccoli to the skillet, carefully mixing everything to combine the flavors, leaving it on the heat for another minute.

After I finished with the vegetables, I set the skillet aside and started preparing the eggs. I beat the eggs in a large bowl, making sure they were well incorporated, then added cheese, which could be feta or mozzarella, depending on preference. I finished the mixture with a sprinkle of breadcrumbs, salt, and pepper to enhance the flavor.

I prepared an oven-safe glass dish that I greased with a bit of butter so that the frittata wouldn’t stick. I poured half of the onion and broccoli mixture into the bottom of the dish, smoothing it out with a spatula. Then, I added the beaten eggs, allowing them to penetrate the vegetable mixture well. The last step was to distribute the remaining vegetables on top of the eggs, followed by a handful of grated cheese, which will melt beautifully in the oven.

I preheated the oven to a medium temperature and placed the dish inside, letting the frittata bake for 30 to 35 minutes. When the time was up, I turned off the heat but left the frittata in the oven for another 5 minutes. This step allows the dish to set, giving it a perfect texture. In the meantime, I arranged the cutlery on the table and brewed a fragrant coffee, setting the atmosphere to enjoy this delicacy. When I took the frittata out of the oven, its inviting aroma filled the entire room, so I served it hot, with a fresh salad on the side.
