Number of servings: 12
Ingredients:
*Base:*
- 5 eggs
- 8 tablespoons of sugar
- 170 g of flour
- 4 tablespoons of milk
- 4 tablespoons of oil
- 1 packet of baking powder
- A pinch of salt
- 1 tablespoon heaped with cocoa + 1 tablespoon of milk
*Syrop:*
- 1 teaspoon of cappuccino
- 1 teaspoon of powdered sugar
- 100-150 ml of warm water
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla essence
*Cream:*
- 250 g of unsalted butter (at room temperature)
- 200 g of powdered sugar
- 3 teaspoons of cappuccino
- 2 teaspoons of milk
*Glaze:*
- 100 g of dark chocolate
- 1 tablespoon of butter
- 2 tablespoons of milk
- Colorful sprinkles for decoration
Step by step for a perfect cake:
1. Preparing the bases:
Start by separating the egg whites from the yolks. Beat the egg whites with a pinch of salt until they become firm and fluffy. In a separate bowl, mix the yolks with the baking powder. Gradually add the yolks, milk, and oil to the egg whites, mixing after each addition. Finally, fold in the flour using a spatula, being careful not to deflate the foam.
2. Baking the bases:
Line two loaf pans with baking paper. If you don’t have two identical pans, don’t worry; you can bake the bases one at a time. Pour half of the batter into the first pan, and in the other, mix the remaining batter with cocoa and a tablespoon of milk, then pour into the second pan. Bake in a preheated oven at 175-180 degrees Celsius for 30-35 minutes. Once ready, let them cool.
3. Preparing the cream:
Beat the softened butter in a bowl until creamy. Grind the powdered sugar together with the cappuccino in a coffee grinder and gradually add it to the butter, mixing well. It’s important to taste the cream; if you don’t feel the sugar between your teeth, it’s ready!
4. Assembling the cake:
Trim the tops of the bases to level them. Then, cut each base into four strips. Arrange the strips on a platter in an alternating order: black, white, black, white, black. Soak with the syrup made from the mixture of warm water, cappuccino, and powdered sugar. Apply a layer of cream, then continue with a new row of strips, alternating colors. Finally, cover the entire cake with cream and let it chill in the fridge for 30-40 minutes to set.
5. Glazing:
In a double boiler, melt the chocolate, butter, and milk, stirring constantly. Let it cool slightly, then pour the glaze over the cake, allowing it to drip down the sides. Decorate with colorful sprinkles for a festive look.
Useful tips:
- You can add two yolks to the cream, mixed with the butter, for extra richness.
- When cutting the cake, dip the knife in warm water for perfect slices.
- If you want a fluffier glaze, replace the milk with liquid cream.
Variations and combinations:
This cake pairs perfectly with a fragrant coffee or cappuccino, enhancing the coffee flavor in the cream. You can also serve it alongside vanilla ice cream or with a caramel sauce for an unforgettable culinary experience.
This "Sah" cake with cappuccino is not just a dessert, but also a declaration of love for your loved ones. Each bite will bring smiles and turn ordinary moments into unforgettable memories. So, get ready to impress your family and friends with this delight!
