Preparation time: 30 minutes
Baking time: 60 minutes
Total time: 90 minutes
Number of servings: 4

Stuffed peppers are a classic and beloved recipe in many culinary cultures, combining delicious flavors and healthy ingredients in a dish that delights any table. This simple yet refined recipe will bring you joy in every bite. Let's get started!

Ingredients:
- 4 bell peppers (preferably red or yellow for added sweetness)
- 400 g ground beef or pork (or a combination)
- 1 large onion
- 150 g rice (preferably long-grain)
- 2 large tomatoes (or 200 g canned tomatoes)
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- 2-3 cloves of garlic
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Olive oil
- Fresh herbs (parsley or dill) for garnish

Step-by-step instructions:

1. Start by preparing the peppers. Wash them well, then use a knife to remove the stem and seeds from inside. Make sure the peppers are whole and have no holes. Once finished, place them on a paper towel to dry.

2. In a large bowl, add the ground meat. If you prefer a healthier option, you can use chicken or turkey meat.

3. Chop the onion finely and add it to the meat. The onion adds extra flavor and moisture to the filling.

4. Rinse the rice under cold running water to remove the starch. Then, add it to the bowl with the meat and onion.

5. Put the tomatoes (either fresh or canned) in a blender and blend until you get a smooth sauce. Add the sauce to the filling bowl, along with the tomato paste, crushed garlic, thyme, salt, and pepper. Mix all the ingredients well to form a homogeneous mixture.

6. Fill each pepper with the meat and rice mixture, being careful not to overstuff them. Leave a little space at the top, as the rice will expand during cooking.

7. Preheat the oven to 180°C. Place the stuffed peppers in a baking dish, with the stuffed side facing up. You can add a little water or tomato juice to the dish to prevent drying during baking.

8. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake the peppers for about 45 minutes. After this time, remove the foil and leave them in the oven for another 15 minutes, until they become nicely browned.

9. Once the peppers are ready, let them cool slightly before serving. You can garnish with fresh herbs for a pleasant appearance and an extra flavor boost.

Useful tips:
- If you have time, let the filling sit in the fridge for 30 minutes for the flavors to meld better.
- You can also try a vegetarian version using tofu or chopped mushrooms instead of meat.
- Serve the stuffed peppers alongside a fresh green salad or with a yogurt side dish to complete the delicious meal.

These stuffed peppers are a true feast for the taste buds, and their preparation is simple and satisfying. I guarantee you will bring smiles to the faces of your loved ones with this classic dish that never goes out of style! Enjoy them with pleasure!
