Chicken Thighs with Exotic Sauce, Baked
We start by preparing an exotic sauce that will transform chicken thighs into a delicacy. In a generous bowl, we add all the necessary ingredients for the sauce. These include soy sauce, honey, crushed garlic, grated ginger, lemon juice, sesame oil, and a dash of chili pepper if you want to add a bit of spice. Mix with a spatula or whisk until all the ingredients are well combined and we obtain a smooth emulsion. This mixture will give the meat not only a special taste but also a juicy texture. Once we have the sauce, we take the chicken thighs, whether whole or drumsticks, and rub them well with this flavorful sauce. Then, we let them marinate in the refrigerator for 2-3 hours. This step is essential to allow the flavors to penetrate deep into the meat.
For effective marination, it is recommended to put the thighs and sauce in a thicker bag, which we seal tightly. Once we have shaken the bag well, we ensure that the sauce evenly covers each piece of meat. When the marination time is up, we prepare to bake the chicken. We preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius and take care of the baking tray. We grease a tray with oil to prevent the meat from sticking, and then we place the thighs alongside peeled and sliced tomatoes, as well as olives that have been soaked in water to maintain their crunchy texture.
We sprinkle the remaining exotic sauce on top, add salt and pepper to taste. After about 30 minutes of baking, when the thighs start to brown, we turn our attention to the potatoes. We peel the potatoes, wash them well, and then cut them into interesting shapes, such as stars or circles, using cookie cutters. These shapes will not only look appealing but will also bake evenly and absorb the flavors from the exotic sauce.
We add the potatoes to the tray and continue baking for another 30-40 minutes until everything is perfectly cooked. When the chicken thighs are golden and crispy, and the potatoes are soft and flavorful, we take the tray out of the oven. Before serving, we can sprinkle some freshly chopped parsley for an extra touch of color and aroma. This dish is perfect for a family meal or a special occasion. Enjoy your meal!
